License activation

Activate Cadence Booking, understand expiry, and move a license safely between sites.

Your Cadence Booking license enables product updates, downloads, and the booking features covered by your subscription. One license covers one production site; local and recognized staging sites do not use the production activation allowance.

Find your license key

MD79 Inc. emails the license key after checkout. Look for the Cadence Booking license email at the address used for purchase, and check the junk folder if it does not arrive promptly.

The key begins with CAD-. Treat it like a password: do not publish it in a support post, screenshot, source repository, or public configuration file. If you need the email sent again, use Resend license email in the customer portal.

Paste the key in WordPress

In the WordPress dashboard, open Cadence Booking → Settings → License. Paste the complete key into License key, select Activate license, and wait for the active status to appear.

Cadence Booking sends the site address and installed software versions to the licensing service during activation and periodic validation. If activation fails, verify the entire key, confirm that WordPress can make outbound HTTPS requests, and ensure that the site URL in WordPress is correct.

Understand expiry and site data

When a license expires, Cadence Booking stops downloads and updates and locks its customer-facing booking functionality. Existing services, availability rules, appointments, and settings remain stored in WordPress; expiration never deletes customer data.

Renewing or reactivating the license restores access without requiring you to rebuild the schedule. A brief licensing-service interruption also does not immediately lock an otherwise valid installation because the plugin keeps its last known status for a limited fail-open period.

Move Cadence Booking to another site

Before activating the production license on a replacement site, sign in to the Cadence Booking customer portal, open Licenses, find the old site under activations, and select Deactivate. You can then paste and activate the same emailed key on the new WordPress site.

Portal deactivation is especially important when the former site is unavailable or was rebuilt. It releases the production activation without deleting anything from either WordPress database. Deactivating the plugin inside WordPress is not a substitute for releasing the site in the portal.
